วิธีแก้: เปลี่ยนจาก "was" เป็น "were"
อธิบายหลักไวยากรณ์
ในประโยคนี้คำว่า "was" ใช้ผิดรูป/ผิดหลัก ต้องเปลี่ยนเป็น "were" จึงจะถูกต้องตามไวยากรณ์ เหตุผลทางไวยากรณ์: many cars = พหูพจน์ → there were เคล็ดลับจำง่าย ๆ: There is/was + เอกพจน์, There are/were + พหูพจน์ กริยา to be (is / am / are / was / were) เป็นหัวใจของประโยคบอกสภาพและสถานะ คนไทยมักลืมใส่หรือใช้ผิดรูป เพราะภาษาไทยไม่มีกริยา "เป็น/อยู่/คือ" ที่ผันตามประธาน
