ในประโยคนี้คำว่า "pair" ใช้ผิดรูป/ผิดหลัก ต้องเปลี่ยนเป็น "pairs" จึงจะถูกต้องตามไวยากรณ์ เหตุผลทางไวยากรณ์: three + pairs ต้องเติม s เคล็ดลับจำง่าย ๆ: จำนวน 2+ = พหูพจน์เสมอ รูปพหูพจน์ (plurals) ในภาษาอังกฤษเปลี่ยนรูปคำนามเมื่อมีมากกว่าหนึ่ง ขณะที่ภาษาไทยไม่เปลี่ยน คนไทยจึงมักลืมเติม -s หรือใช้รูปพหูพจน์พิเศษผิด
